Mark was born (1964) and grew up in West Yorkshire, England. He studied photography at Batley College of Art and Design before moving to London to work as a photographic assistant. An intense curiosity about the world prompted him to leave London in 1989 and embark on a three year trip through the United States, Mexico and Asia. After his travels he settled in New York.
From 1995 to 2011 he worked as a freelance advertising and editorial photographer in New York City. His clients included Verizon, Jaguar, Canon, Amtrak, Microsoft, The Red Cross, Disney, The Discovery Channel, Robert Wood Johnson, ESPN, Nylon, Fortune, GQ, and Paper magazine.
Mark’s personal work was always his natural calling and since 2011 he has made it his primary focus. He uses photography to explore both personal and metaphysical themes.
